Fast Food

It’s crazy how much fast food meals I have consumed in my life so far. I can’t even honestly remember the first time I tried McDonalds. When I was growing up, my mom did all the cooking and she made all our meals. Although I didn’t appreciate it much then, now I look back and wish I was enjoying my mom’s meals every day. The only times that we ever ate out when I was younger was on special occasions. I remember getting really excited every time I did well in school or it was my cousin’s birthday because it always meant one thing: Eating out. I used to love eating at Carl’s Jr. that was my favorite place. I never really enjoyed McDonalds that much but we also ate there when I was growing up. I remember one time I went to McDonalds and I got a happy meal and those usually always come with toys. When I opened my happy meal, there wasn’t just one toy, there were two! I was so excited; I think I played with the toys for weeks. Fast food wasn’t a huge part of my childhood, but it was kind of important to me. I was a kid and I loved being able to eat out once in awhile but then again I think any young kid would. As I got older, it became easier to go out with friends and enjoy a greasy meal together. I loved eating out so much that as soon as I got my first job, the thing I would spend my money on the most was on fast food. I never thought fast food would become part of my regular eating routine.
Now, I almost depend on eating out. It has become part of my regular routine. Although I know that eating too much fast food can be a bad thing, it has become easy to eat quick meals everyday because of my busy schedule. Sometimes there just isn’t time to sit at home and enjoy one of my mom’s delicious meals. I have to go to work most of the days and then to school on my free days. Sometimes I do get lucky and I have a chance to make myself something to eat or I eat something my mom makes, but it doesn’t happen very often. Another thing that I have to worry about is money. I always spend money on fast food places, McDonalds, Wendy’s; you name it I’m there. This is becoming a real problem in my wallet. I have been trying to cut back on eating out recently and I have been pretty successful so far. I try to take snacks to school and then eat at home and I also do the same when I go to work.I don’t think I could ever really give up fast foods completely, but I am definitely trying to minimize the amount that I eat every week. I would encourage anyone else to try to do the same to better your health, save you money, and save your life.

Past, Present, Future

My name is Judyth Linares and I was born December 16, 1991. I have lived in Oxnard California my whole life and I really enjoy it here.  I grew up with five sisters, three older and two younger, so I guess I was sort of a middle child. I do not have any brothers although I wish I did. My parents are from Mexico and they both met here in the United States. Growing up, my parents always made it possible for all my family to come together all the time. Aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins, all of us spent a lot of time together whenever possible. I enjoyed my childhood because I was always able to spend my time with everyone especially my sisters. Although I love having so many sisters, sometimes it was a pain in the butt dealing with all the emotions us girls have. Even through the ups and downs, I enjoyed growing up with my sisters and my big family.
Currently, I am living with my parents and two younger sisters. My oldest sister is married now and has been married for eight years. My second oldest sister is currently in the fashion business and always gets to travel to different parts of the world because of her job. My third oldest sister recently finished getting her bachelors degree but is still working on becoming a teacher. We all keep in touch when we can but we all have busy schedules so it gets hard sometimes. I am currently in my third year in college and attending both Ventura and Oxnard College. I have a younger sister that is also attending Oxnard College and my youngest sister is a sophomore in high school. My parents have done an amazing job in raising us because I believe we are all in the right track to being successful in life. Although they are both not working right now, I hope to get a good education and get a good job so I can take care of them as much as they took care of me.
In the next few years, I hope to be done with college and be on my way to finding my dream job and raising my own family. After Oxnard College, I hope to get in to FIDM and then move on to get a job working at an art gallery. I would love to be living in Los Angeles in the next few years because I love that place. After I get a good job, I would like to start my own family of my own. Unfortunately, none of my older sisters have kids because they don’t want any but I would really like to have my own children someday. I loved being around my whole family as a kid and I would love to have my own family like that one day. I am looking forward to what the future holds for me and I expect nothing but the best outcomes for my life.
